SIB (Société Innovation du Bâtiment), a subsidiary of the Nadia Group, is a French manufacturer specializing in gates, fences, shutters, garage doors, and other aluminum outdoor design solutions. The company designs, manufactures, and assembles its products at its production facility in Mortagne-sur-Sèvre, in the Vendée region. Since aluminum is at the heart of its products, SIB generates aluminum profile scraps as a result of its custom manufacturing process. As part of its commitment to the circular economy and resource optimization, the company aims to reuse these scraps to reduce waste and limit its purchases of new materials.

SIB's industrial challenges

To optimize the management of its profile inventory, SIB needed a solution that would provide clear visibility into the length and availability of remaining profiles. The initial benefits became apparent quickly. We were able to better identify and make use of our scrap, significantly reducing waste and optimizing our resources. We improved our scrap rate by 5 to 6 percentage points. In 2024, it stood at 20 percent.

For several years, we had been trying to optimize our scrap rate, both for profiles and panels. The solutions we tested often proved to be too complex or lacked clarity regarding the actual benefits.
